We are delighted to announce that we will officially be breaking ground on the Genova House, a Cancer Can't lodging facility!
Thank you to all the donors whose incredible support will make the Genova House a reality, creating a place of comfort, hope, and community for cancer patients and their families when they need it most.
We know many of you were expecting to celebrate a groundbreaking earlier this spring. In March, initial construction pricing came in nearly $2 million higher than expected. To remain responsible stewards of your dollars, and to ensure we didn't have to cut dedicated patient lodging, our Board paused the project to reopen competitive bidding.
The wait was worth it, and we have incredible news:
New Construction Partner
In late June, we selected and signed a contract with Ginno Construction, whose bid aligns perfectly with our original budget!
A Personal Mission
The project will be led by a cancer survivor who brings deep personal passion and heart to bringing the Genova House to life.
Groundbreaking Soon
With financing nearly finalized, we plan to break ground within the next two months before winter arrives.
